A downloadable birthday game for Windows, macOS, and Linux

minimum cool gets maximum shades

AKA victory for upfish

You are Upfish. You are very cool. But your daily sojourn into outer space goes awry when the heavens themselves conspire to steal your precious sunglasses! You've gotta get em back! Shred through the stratos, you warrior of the wind!

This is a birthday present for my friend Chris aka Upfish! The game is based on the Godot 2D tutorial game, altered to have a level based scoring system, with dynamically layering music and randomly pitched sound effects.

Install instructions

For Windows:

  1. Unzip the zip folder
  2. Run victoryforupfish.exe (leave the .pck file in there, the .exe needs it to exist in the same folder to work)
  3. You'll get a pop-up saying something about it not being recognized as a safe. Select the tiny, underlined "More info" link in the dialog text.
  4. Select the "Run Anyway" button.

For Mac:

  1. Run victoryforupfish.dmg
  2. Your mac will cry about it not being safe
  3. Open your mac settings > privacy & security
  4. Scroll down pretty far to the Security area
  5. There should be an option to run the most recently blocked program, select that!

For Linux:

  1. Good luck.

(Only do this if you trust me! This is a risky thing to do, of course. I'm hoping to figure out how to release games that don't trigger OS security warnings in the future — such is the nature of not having official dev credentials as a noob)
